My road is open in both directions! There's still paving and guard rails to go, but I can drive through the much much shorter way. I'm hoping the paving is done before the weekend since the local weather is forcasting heavy rains this weekend.

WooHoo!!! I'm so glad they got it done. I was afraid you'd have to wait until spring or something... Now if only Wilma will stay the hell away!
Why do I have this mental image of you driving up and down your road for a couple hours, just because you can? :-)
Teresa - The town pretty much had to fix the road. People on the other side couldn't get heating oil deliveries and access to emergency services was just a tad shaky. If there wasn't a major safety issue, the town probably wouldn't have fixed the hole so quickly.
Yes, Nell - the snow is all Teresa's fault. *snork* But as long as the snow stays up north, I won't have to go beat her.
And Harvey - you've already figured me out. If I'd had a couple of hours this morning.......
